Zendure in the UK: SolarFlow plug-in kits and batteries

Zendure has six SolarFlow 800 plug-in solar kits on the ENA register for Great Britain, all marked Compliant and published on 21 September 2026. Each is a SolarFlow 800 microinverter with two solar panels and floor, wall or balcony brackets, and none includes a battery. That matters, because Zendure's European page says the SolarFlow 800 can take a Zendure battery, and the plug-in rules exclude batteries. Zendure's SolarFlow 2400 Pro and 2400 AC+ batteries are sold in the UK as hard-wired systems that a Part P-registered electrician must install.

Start with a simple question: do you want a battery-free kit you can plug in yourself, or a battery that an electrician fits? Zendure sells both, and they follow different rules. Our plug-in solar guide covers the legal route in detail.

The Zendure range in the UK

Zendure has no UK product page for the SolarFlow 800, and its UK store didn't sell it when we checked on 24 September 2026, although it appears in Zendure's UK warranty table. If you find a SolarFlow 800 kit at a retailer, ask which ENA record it matches.

SolarFlow 800: the plug-in kit

A SolarFlow 800 kit that matches one of Zendure's six records and carries the declaration of compliance is a retail product you set up yourself under the plug-in rules, not an installed system. Zendure's European product page describes the SolarFlow 800 as an 800 W inverter with 1,200 W of solar input in total, across two inputs of up to 600 W each. The extra panel capacity helps on dull days and in winter; the output into your home stays capped at 800 W.

Why the battery matters. The plug-in law covers a device that turns sunlight into electricity, has no more than 800 W of output and is not designed to take electricity from your home to store it. Zendure's European page says the SolarFlow 800 can take a Zendure battery and can charge it from the grid on cheap-rate hours. Once a battery is added, the kit is outside the plug-in route. Zendure's own UK guide says plug-in batteries and combined solar-and-battery systems "currently sit outside the UK's simplified plug-in solar route". Buy the battery-free kit, and don't add a battery later.

Before you plug it in:

• Check that the kit comes with a declaration that it meets the government's Interim Product Specification. The version Zendure sells in Europe has a bidirectional inverter that can charge a battery from the grid.
• Check the kit's model name against Zendure's six "Plug-in Solar" records on the ENA's Connect Direct register.
• Only one plug-in device is allowed per household until the grid connection rules (G98) are amended, and you must notify your network operator.
• A kit bought from a shop carries 20% VAT.
• In Great Britain, Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) tariffs are offered by individual suppliers on their own terms and ask for MCS or equivalent certification. Whether a plug-in kit can qualify is not established, so value the kit on the electricity you use while it is producing.
• Don't mount panels on a wall or balcony from a ladder at height; across Great Britain the plug-in specification bars fixing a kit to a timber balcony or to timber, metal composite or laminate cladding, and in England any wooden wall, balcony, fence or enclosure is also outside permitted development.
• The plug-in route applies in England, Scotland and Wales, not yet in Northern Ireland.

Power cuts. Zendure's European FAQ says the SolarFlow 800 stops supplying power during an outage and cannot be used as backup. It also says the SolarFlow 800 is not compatible with Zendure's Ace 1500 or its off-grid power strip, so don't buy that combination for backup.

SolarFlow 2400 Pro and AC+: batteries that need an electrician

Zendure's UK page says the SolarFlow 2400 Pro "requires installation by a Part P-registered electrician" (Part P covers England and Wales; Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own rules) and comes with hardwiring terminals. When we checked the ENA register on 24 September 2026, both the 2400 Pro (ZDSF2400P) and the 2400 AC+ (ZDSF2400AC+) were listed as 2.4 kW energy storage devices under G98, marked Compliant and published on 2 March 2026.

The 2400 Pro's key numbers, from Zendure's UK page:

• 2.4 kWh in the base unit, extendable with AB3000L modules of 2.88 kWh each, up to 16.8 kWh;
• four MPPTs with up to 3,000 W of solar input (an MPPT is a tracker that gets the most power from the panels on that input);
• an off-grid AC port rated at 2,400 W, with a 3,600 W peak for 200 milliseconds.

Zendure's UK store listed the 2400 Pro at £1,099 and each AB3000L at £799 on 24 September 2026, before installation. Bought from a shop, the battery carries 20% VAT. It is zero-rated (until 31 March 2027, then 5% unless extended) only if one business both supplies it and fits it in your home. When you buy the battery yourself and pay an electrician to fit it, their labour can still be charged at 0% VAT, so check that their quote shows it.

Sizing. A battery moves solar into the evening; it doesn't create more of it. Before paying for modules, check how much your panels export on typical days across the year. A household that already uses most of its solar at midday has little to store, and in winter a large stack may stay partly empty. Grid paperwork. In Great Britain, G98 lets your electrician connect first and notify your network operator within 28 days, as long as the total inverter output at your home stays within 3.68 kW on a single-phase supply. If you already have solar panels with their own inverter, the combined output counts, and above that limit the operator must approve it first under G99. Backup. Zendure says the 2400 Pro switches its off-grid port to battery power when it detects an outage. Only what is plugged into that port stays on, not your home's circuits.

Some Zendure product text describes a plug-and-play set-up for its larger Mix series. In Great Britain the plug-in route covers only battery-free kits up to 800 W, so plan any Zendure battery as a hard-wired installation.

Warranty periods in Zendure's UK terms

Zendure's UK warranty terms give:

Cover starts on the day the product is delivered to you, not the order date, so keep the courier's delivery confirmation with your invoice. Products bought from unauthorised dealers or resellers are excluded from the standard warranty. On a battery, ask whether there is a capacity threshold or throughput limit; the UK terms we read give periods, not capacity guarantees.

Buying Zendure: who you are dealing with

Zendure's UK website names the seller as Zendure DE GmbH, a company registered in Düsseldorf, Germany, and lists a UK freephone support line. Zendure's UK warranty says it does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law. Before you order, find out where a return would be sent and who pays for shipping a heavy battery back, because a German seller may arrange returns differently from a UK shop. An online order gives you 14 days from delivery to cancel, and you may have to pay the return postage if the terms say so.

If you buy a SolarFlow kit from a UK retailer instead, your Consumer Rights Act claims for a faulty product are against that retailer. Check the retailer is authorised by Zendure, or the manufacturer's warranty may not apply.

For a hard-wired battery, you also have a contract with the electrician who fits it.
